Acids & Bases

For hundreds of years, chemists have recognized two important classes of compounds: acids and bases.
From the foods you eat to the beverages you drink, you encounter acids and bases every day. Although we will be discussing some common properties of acids and bases, including some common substances in which they are found, it is important to remember that you should never taste or touch any laboratory or household chemicals. Acids and bases can be very dangerous.
